Run your own EARLY detection tests to find disease before you can see it

CRD™ Rapid pathogen tests

Our rapid pathogen tests are a simple do-it-yourself test that can be performed in the field. These tests are designed for in-field use and only take a few steps: collect the sample, mix with the provided buffer solution and run the test.

Our tests are easy, fast and much cheaper than sending to a lab. On-site testing allows you to find and track disease before your plants start to show symptoms. Our first test is for botrytis (gray mold), and we plan to release new tests soon, including phytophthora (root rot).

  • On-site results in as little as 10 minutes
  • Easy to use
  • Lab quality sensitivity
  • No need to send anything in the mail
  • No extra equipment required

CRD™ Botrytis

Cubed Lab’s first diagnostic is CRD™ Botrytis, a rapid point-of-need test to detect the presence of botrytis, also known as gray mold or bunch rot.

The botrytis fungus infects over 230 plant species, evident on the surface as gray fluffy mold. Worldwide, it is estimated it causes losses of US$10-100bn (Jin & Wu, 2015) and can counteract a broad range of plant defense chemicals. CRD™ Botrytis enables farmers to proactively address infections at the earliest possible stage and treat accordingly. It can detect botrytis before it appears and while you can still treat it.
